Planning & Advice

Update: Thank you, everyone, for coming. For those of you who missed the event we recorded it for you:

Hey Vancouver, we’re holding a 1-hour personal finance 101 seminar on November 28 to celebrate Financial Literacy month. Be sure to join us as we’ll be sharing insights into a number of critical financial issues:

Renting vs. Owning

Are Canadian real estate prices the highest in the world in relation to rent? We’ll explore the historical growth trends of real estate and show you how to build a plan to buy a home in 5-10 years while renting now. We’ll also discuss how increasing mortgage rates will affect both affordability and prices in the future.

Financial Advice

Ever wonder how most investment firms and advisors work — and get paid for giving you advice? We’ll explain what you should expect from an advisor, and teach you how you can compare the performance of your advisor against others.

Insurance

We’ll cover key insurance questions like: Do you have a need for life insurance? How does life insurance need change (decrease) over time for most of us? We’ll explain how term life is priced and what permanent life insurance is.

Finally, we’ll look at the disadvantages of the group disability coverage you might get from your employer, and why someone might consider getting their own disability coverage.
